Summary
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raymond Rocco Monto, of Nantucket, Mass is trying to raise awareness about the unfilled need for Flexibility exercises. Their isn’t really a place where this occurred considering that this is just an idea that has been here for a long time but only now are people taking a second look at this but, this specific orthopedic surgeon is from Nantucket, Mass. I’m not sure When this occurred either but the article was released SATURDAY, Nov. 28, 2015. Most People have always had a broad idea of the importance of flexibility exercises, but not until now is it really being put into the spotlight, and it’s a really important fact (yes fact) that I want to be brought into the light. I’m just gonna really stress these four main points How important flexibility exercise are. Without flexibility exercises our bodies are jeopardized. They extremely improve our range of motion. People need to become aware of and stop overlooking this fact.
Reflections
I picked this article because I made connections to this article I mean I know a couple things from gymnastics, like if you want to attempt anything, even the most basic things like a slit, cartwheels, or a back bend you must stretch before hand. “Flexibility exercises help reduce back and joint pain, improves joint flexibility, improves circulation, and improves muscle health.” I also chose this article because I love gymnastics walk overs, aerials, flip into slit you name it, if I have a spotter I’ll try it. Gymnastics would not be possible without flexibility exercises. I think there was a need for this to be research because it's a topic that not a lot of people think of. It’s important grabbed my attention because right off the bat it said something that I can’t help but quote, "Some joints lose up to 50 percent of motion as we age.” Now when reading this quote you may say ok who cares I’m not gonna be doing slits when I 90, well yes this is most likely true… But if you can’t even touch your knees that may be a problem. I think this is useful information for anyone, boy girl, child or senior. They all would benefit from flexibility exercises. This makes a huge difference in people's everyday lifestyle. It helps people not be limited to motion range. I found it in a list of recommendation from Mr. Harrington. I learned a lot but I was not surprised by this article, I can see many pros to these exercises. The only con I can see some people complaining about is that this may take longer that strength exercises to have a noticeable effect. But I agree completely with everything mentioned in this article
“Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. Modern biology is a vast and eclectic field, composed of many branches and subdisciplines.” That is what came up when I searched Biology, and since your body needs to be at least a little flexible in order to function, If you body is not flexible you can’t do everyday actions. Plus it puts you in danger of pulling something. Being flexible is one of the best ways to avoid this undesirable situation. Key words, Your Body. Flexibility exercises help your body, biology is the study of living things, like you body. The only question I have about this is
Mr. Harrington recommended it so I will just assume it is trustworthy. This article seemed extremely reliable, everything in here I’ve either heard before or it just makes too much sense to not be true.

I Love Your Piece! Very Creative. Also, I love the topic that was actually my second choice.

ReplyDeleteYour writing was very good! The connections section was full of great connections and details. However, I found a few grammatical errors you might want to fix. The last sentence in the 3rd paragraph abruptly stops, I don't know if the last sentence was the question, but you might want to revisit it. I also noticed that when you were talking about the gymnastics stretches that you wrote slit about three times. I think you might have meant split. Other than that, your project was great!
