Americans growing more concerned About Head Injuries in american football. What has been discovered recently is that Iron Mike, former center for the Steelers, had dementia. This discovery left him with no life. He died at age fifty. Many different types of doctors and  coaches and even american football players are involved in this. People are worried about head injuries for american football players. And the concussions that people are getting are involving brain damage and life ruining diseases. It takes place is on the field when people are playing football, because of concussions. How this is happening is when a head collides with something else it causes the brain to expand. The brain bounces against your skull. This cause pain as you may guess and there isn’t one main treatment. The main idea of this article is to get people to understand what is happening to american football player's heads when being hit.

What I reflect on this is a lot of different things. First, My family plays football or did until news came out with concerns of concussions if these news hadn’t come out in the near future my brothers could be a victim of a concussion. Also, my article is very important since concussions can be very bad especially if they are causing brain damage in the future. Second, this is important news because if this didn’t come out then many people could potentially get hurt. Third, this information is useful to doctors and doctors that help to try to prevent certain things because those doctors could help by experimenting on things that could help for instance the robot/device. My attention was grabbed at the fact of my family connection to this event. A lot of this that is happening to football players will definitely have lots of impact on their lives whether it is bad or really bad impact. Another reason I chose this article is because I feel that after my paper my brothers will be convinced why they are not allowed to play football anymore. I agree with the author about the science that they have come up with because first of all I haven’t been looking at this for a long time so who am I to argue but also, because if people didn’t hear about this then people would be at risk without even knowing it.

This article relates to what we are studying in class because the head in a human relates to neurology, and the nervous system because when you get a concussion your brain swells and bounces around in your head and hits the side of your skull as I said above. “Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. Modern biology is a vast and eclectic field, composed of many branches and subdisciplines.” When you look up biology this comes up. Since concussions have to do with the human body and biology is a study which covers the human the body they are related. I think this news is relieving because I’m pretty sure people knew something was happening with football players but now that they know what there are ways to help. Also, now lots of football players are probably afraid to get a concussion which is kind of sad. Lots of kids parents including my own are not letting there kids play because of this which can be frustrating and nerve racking. American football players and coaches are not to happy with this news because they are worried that football players will quit which will leaves teams with not enough players. This is an important topic for those that play football and or know people that do.
